When BP initiated Operation Deep clean, three sand sharks, three power screens and countless other pieces of beach cleaning equipment were brought to Orange Beach. BP officials said they would begin the beach overhaul at the Alabama-Florida state line and work their way west, eventually reaching Gulf Shores.
But the oil giant isn’t completing the clean-up in a straight east to west line. Crews are bouncing around from site to site, cleaning 500 square yard grids at a time, making it difficult to track their progress.
BP officials directed us to a website to track and following clean-up efforts, but we weren’t able to find the maps or grid clean-up information, making it difficult to track their clean-up progress.
