Doomed to Failure

There’s a story that went viral earlier this week, and has now caught fire, claiming the latest capping effort was doomed to failure before it even began. Some experts believe that BP’s latest run at stopping the gusher was a non-starter because the well casing sustained catastrophic damage during BP’s failed “top kill” effort. It is being floated that a blowout below the sea floor caused a complete loss of integrity of the casing. If that in fact did take place, the cap will never hold the pressure and a terrible situation could get even worse.
