BREAKING NEWS: 100-Mile Long Oil Slick Spotted Off Louisiana Coast

B

A large oil slick – 12-miles wide by 100-miles long – was spotted yesterday off Grand Isle, Louisiana, by pilot Bonny Schumaker, who heads up the California-based environmental nonprofit “On Wings of Care.” Ms. Schumaker confirmed that the slick is rapidly expanding, and reports that she will be returning to the site as soon as possible to further investigate the situation. New Orleans photographer Jerry Moran, who was flying with Schumaker, filed aerial photos.

Reports say that skimming operations have been under way for at least 24 hours now. Ms. Schumaker observed the slick roughly 25 miles from where BP’s Macondo well spewed more than 200 million gallons of crude into the Gulf last year.

There are already allegations that the Coast Guard and other authorities are busy trying to cover up the spill, so stay tuned.

Details are still spotty but here’s a report from the Times-Picayune: http://www.nola.com/news/index.ssf/2011/03/oil_sheen_in_gulf_of_mexico_un.html

  • can’t you just show the coastguard the pictures of the big oil-mass so that they don’t say “supposed oil spill” any more.

this is now time to see who are the liars, and in this case, because of all the deaths caused and deaths to come, the liars should see that they kill with their lies. And what is the punishment for this?…

i always wondered about the bible, and how it says that all liars will be killed. i can see now because lies can be murder weapons.

  • Coast Guard claims it is sediment, and is “well below the standards set for clean water.”

I suggest we bottle it, and place it on every cooler in every public building in Washington DC. Seriously, what is wrong with these people? Is there one remaining adult out there that honestly ‘trusts’ this government?
